About Beckettsfield: Roger Beckett was a Cub and Scout in Taney Parish. As an adult, he

became a dynamic Scout Leader. Then, tragically, at age 28, he passed away.

Soon afterwards, the Beckett family purchased a property on Saggart Hill. They donated it to the organisation Roger loved best: 20th Dublin (Dundrum) Scouts.

Since 1980, Beckettsfield has provided our urban Scout Group with a foothold in the wilderness. Scores of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have hiked the surrounding trails. They've camped, played games and sung campfire songs at Beckettsfield. On rainy nights and during winter months, the Beckettsfield Camphouse has provided our Scouts with a place to stay that is warm and dry.

Today essential renovations are underway so that the camphouse at Beckettsfield can be enjoyed by Beavers, Cubs and Scouts (and even Brownies and Guides!) for decades to come.
